  BitLocker is another security area we have improved with Windows 8. Many IT organizations want to use BitLocker to protect the hard drives on their machines and use BitLocker to Go to protect data on easy to lose USB drives. With Windows 7 some users had a less then optimal experience because BitLocker needs to encrypt the entire drive before you can write data to it. With Windows 8 you now get shorter wait times to increase user acceptance of data protection.
